Emmanuel Yeboah's Silk Mosaics are a totally unique art form. Each piece is completely made by hand. The composition is drawn on a panel. Bit by bit, silk threads are painstakingly bonded to the wood substrate, one color at at time. The threads are arranged in rows which work around in a spiral and every so often change direction, thereby creating facets and patterns which lend depth and vibrancy to the abstract. The contrasting flows of colorful silk thread greatly enhance the texture and mood of each dazzling image. Of this piece the artists says, "The Makola Market is one of the largest trading centers in Ghana. There are many women such as those depicted here, negotiating the prices of goods they buy and sell." 24" x 32" unframed.
